The forum for international development + planning (finep) is a German non-profit project- and consultancy organization, working in sustainable development with a focus on development education, environmental policy and promoting local democracy. Besides implementing its own projects, finep provides assistance and advice to other non-profit organizations on third-party funding, offers process consultation and facilitation, organizational development support, runs training programs and elaborates on studies and educational concepts. 

WeWorld is an Italian independent organization operating in 27 countries, including Italy, to promote and guarantee the rights of women, children and local communities through development cooperation and humanitarian aid programs. 

Our educational and awareness-raising activities on global issues, especially targeting schools and youth, are inspired by the principles promoted in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

We strive for a better world where everyone must have equal opportunities and rights, access to resources, to health, to education and to decent work. A world in which the environment is a common good to be respected and preserved; in which war, violence and exploitation are banned. A world where nobody is left behind.

The University of Nicosia Research Foundation (UNRF)’s mission is to inspire and to promote knowledge, innovation and development through cutting-edge research. UNRF brings together experience from around Cyprus, the region and the European Union in a wide range of fields. Research at UNRF focuses on global and local issues including health, complex networks, social sciences, education, ICT and environmental sustainability. Researchers at UNRF are interested in examining challenges to modern life from a wide range of perspectives, including technological and scientific advances, modern culture and thought, and apply their expertise derived from addressing local, regional and national issues to global challenges and develop teams to bring disciplinary strengths together to approach key issues with European and global impact.

UNRF’s researchers have substantial experience in the management and implementation of national and European funded projects.

UNRF has conducted and successfully completed various social research activities with different social and excluded groups. Furthermore, it has administering several proposals in which partners from different countries participating having as objectives to upgrade professional skills by using online Tools. It also has experience in the EQF Learning Outcomes Approach, outreach approach with social excluded groups and knowledge capacity which derives from the direct link of the centre with the University of Nicosia.

The University of Bologna (Unibo), founded in 1088, is the oldest university in Western Europe. Nowadays, it remains one of the most important institutions of higher education across Europe. The University of Bologna strongly supports the research and education activities of interdisciplinary research groups working on cultural heritage (tangible and intangible) and  integrated development and migration. 

For this project, our interdisciplinary team includes: 

• Department of Sociology and Business Law; 
• Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences; 
• Department of History and Cultures; 
• Department of Political and Social Sciences.

Südwind advocates sustainable global development, human rights and decent working conditions worldwide. Through campaigning, educational work in and outside of schools and the publication of the Südwind magazine, the non-governmental development organisation raises awareness on global interdependencies and their effects. The organisation carries out projects on local, regional, national, and international levels. Südwind has been working towards a more just and peaceful worlds since 1979. www.suedwind.at

SLOGA is a platform of non-governmental organizations (NGO), which work in the field of international development cooperation, global education and humanitarian aid. The aim of the platform is to connect and strengthen the partnerships among Slovenian NGOs, which are active and/or are raising awareness of Slovenian and European public about uneven distribution of global wealth and subsequent significance of global solidarity and interdependence.

Main task of SLOGA is to monitor and actively cooperate in the design, implementation and evaluation of Slovenian and European policies of international development cooperation, with the aim of advocating for the public interest on the field of social balance and responsibility, respect of human rights, equal opportunities, education, solidarity, sustainable development and greater integration of vulnerable social groups into decision-making processes in the context of development cooperation. Thus, SLOGA actively cooperates with political decision-makers and representatives of Slovenian media.

SLOGA is organizing education and training activities for development NGO’s, is informing relevant stakeholders about contemporary issues on national, European and global level on weekly basis, is linking NGOs in the consortium partnerships for joint candidatures for European and national calls, and is encouraging all interested stakeholders to cooperate in SLOGA’s working groups.

The City of Bologna is the seventh largest city in Italy, with about 392.000 citizens, and ranks sixth in economic importance, standing out for its special industrial clusters, like automatic machinery, motor industry, electronics, fashion, agro-food sectors. Hungarian Baptist Aid is a humanitarian organization providing aid, relief, development and spiritual assistance for the needy, vulnerable, socially marginalized to ease their situation, striving to create an opportunity for a more humane life, regardless of the nationality, race, religion, political or social affiliation of the beneficiaries. HBAid specializes in assisting physically challenged, refugees, homeless, drug addicts, victims of human trafficking and natural disasters. 

Since its founding in 1996 HBAid has worked in 60+ countries and has grown to become the largest professional aid and development agencies in Hungary with 200 full time HQ employees, a further 3000 full time staff in different social and educational institutions and thousands of volunteers. Buy Responsibly Foundation is a nationwide organization focusing on of sustainable development and environmental protection, responsible consumption and production, as well as respect for human rights and environmental principles in business.

BRF try to show who and under what conditions produces the goods that we buy every day, and investigate whether their production did not have a negative impact on people, animals and the environment and looking for ethical and ecological alternatives. BRF implement informational and educational projects, work with teachers and other NGO’s, interact with business and governmental and administrative structures.

BEPF was established in 2003 as the Bulgarian member of the Environmental Partnership Association, which brings together 6 NGOs from CEE. 

It works on public awareness raising on environmental issues and promotion of active citizen participation for sustainable development. Its aims are transparent and good governance practices, active communities, and sustainable lifestyles. 

BEPF main focus areas are: 

• climate change;
• citizen participation;
• promotion of volunteerism;
• advocacy for good governance practices;
• awareness raising and conservation of species/habitats.

BEPF is member of the For the Nature Coalition of nature conservation NGOs and civic groups, and the Climate Coalition.

We are a non-governmental organization born in Spain. Since for more than 30 years we have been fighting for the rights of women, migrants and environment, contributing to the improvement of the situation of thousand of people on five continents. To this end we know that we need to build an informed, critical and desire to bee involved in the social changes needed ti achieve a world that put people an human rights at the centre. And we know that the advocacy is key to achieving this. Since September 2018, we are members of the International Federation Action Aid, extending our influence to more than 50 countries. ALDA was established in 1999 at the initiative of the Council of Europe to coordinate and support the network of Local Democracy Agencies, which are self-sustainable, locally registered NGOs acting as promoters of good governance and local self-government. 

ALDA is a membership-based organization gathering more than 300 members coming from more than 40 countries in Europe and its neighborhood. ALDA promotes active European citizenship, in tight cooperation with local authorities, civil society networks, and European institutions.

The activities of ALDA help raising citizens’ understanding and sense of belonging to the European Union and stimulate intercultural dialogue and civic participation. By conducting its own and its members’ projects, as well as through lobbying activities, ALDA fosters citizen participation and local democracy on four main pillars:

• health and environment.

ActionAid is an independent, international organization that has been working since 1972, with over 15 million people in 45 countries for a world free from poverty and injustice.

Through education, collective action and solidarity, ActionAid brings real change to the lives of the most marginalized people.  It supports people to rely on their own power to claim a life of dignity. It helps local communities take action to hold their governments accountable, and joins forces together with local organizations to advocate against policies and practices that perpetuate poverty and social injustice.
