How is climate change affecting your life?
The oranges were destroyed by flood as a cause of climate change, I suppose. This year is a bigger issue than last year.
Please share pictures of places in your city/village that changed in the last 10 years due to climate change?
The rice in my village in these years is very good because of sufficient water.The farmers in my villages are starting to cultivate with 2.5-month or 3-month short varieties and they get twice a year, not like in 10 or 20 years that we only get once a year with seeds of long-term varieties of rice. It is a gain of time and the yield is much higher than in many years where they only get once and the yield is so small that the amount of rice is sold mostly for a small amount of money per year. So they started growing hybrid rice with shorter time frame than in the last 10 years. I would like to introduce animal husbandry to increase the subsistence income of families. They need the local production or local animals to support their family.
How do you cope with changes in the environment?
The farmers in Tapon village would like to grow the oranges to support the income in the family and to migrate to Thailand.
